The Red Stockings

Rochester, NY 28+ League

TEAM NAME Rochester Red Stockings
HOME FIELD
TEAM HISTORY The Rochester Red Stockings were established in 1996. The team was put together to insure that older players who were not receiving the appropriate playing team in the other senior league were afforded the opportunity to continue to play baseball. The structure and mission of the Red Stockings is rather unique. All players who show up for the game are inserted in the batting order. Also, no player on defense sits on the bench for more than one inning. All available players are rotated. The Red Stockings have been quite successful, winning NABA Championships in 97,98,99 and 03 and finishing as runner-ups in 96, 00, 02 & 07. The team's average age is greater than 55.
